Cancellation & Refund Policy
Understanding our policies regarding cancellations and refunds for cricket watch parties
1. Introduction
This Cancellation and Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling of cricket watch parties booked through the CricCheer platform. Our goal is to provide clear guidelines that are fair to both attendees and hosts.
2. For Attendees
2.1 Free Events
For watch parties that do not require payment:
- You may cancel your reservation at any time.
- We encourage cancelling at least 24 hours before the event to allow hosts to plan accordingly.
- Repeated no-shows without cancellation may result in restrictions on future bookings.
2.2 Paid Events
For watch parties that require ticket purchase or deposits:
- Cancellation Window: Full refunds are available if cancelled 48 hours or more before the event start time.
- Late Cancellation: 50% refund if cancelled between 24-48 hours before the event.
- Very Late Cancellation: No refund for cancellations less than 24 hours before the event, unless otherwise specified by the host.
- Special Circumstances: In case of personal emergencies, contact the host directly to discuss potential exceptions.
2.3 Match Cancellation
If the cricket match itself is cancelled or postponed:
- For non-refundable tickets, the host may either issue a full refund or reschedule the watch party.
- The host will communicate their policy within 24 hours of the official match cancellation announcement.
- If the host opts to reschedule and you cannot attend, you will be entitled to a full refund.
3. For Hosts
3.1 Host Cancellation Policy
- If you need to cancel a watch party as a host, all attendees will receive a full refund of any payments made.
- You must notify attendees as soon as possible through the CricCheer platform.
- Frequent cancellations by hosts may affect their visibility and ranking on the platform.
3.2 Setting Custom Policies
Hosts may set custom cancellation policies that differ from our standard policy, provided they:
- Clearly communicate the policy on their watch party listing.
- Do not violate consumer protection laws in their jurisdiction.
- Get approval from CricCheer for policies that are significantly more restrictive than our standard policy.
4. Processing Refunds
- Refunds will be processed using the original payment method.
- Processing time typically takes 5-10 business days, depending on your payment provider.
- Refund amounts will be in the original currency of payment.
- Processing fees may be non-refundable in certain circumstances.
5. Disputes and Resolutions
If there is a disagreement between hosts and attendees regarding cancellations or refunds:
- First, we encourage direct communication between the parties to reach a resolution.
- If no resolution is reached, either party may contact CricCheer support for assistance.
- CricCheer may mediate disputes and make a final determination based on our policies and the specific circumstances.
- In cases where CricCheer mediates, both parties agree to abide by the final decision.
